The last frontier

Papua New Guinea is not a destination — it’s another world.

We began our journey along the Sepik River, moving slowly through villages where time seems to follow the rhythm of the water. The Sepik Crocodile Festival was an unforgettable moment — days of drums, dances, and colors, with tribes arriving from far away, proudly wearing their traditional attire.

Later, we explored part of the Bismarck Sea, before heading inland to the Highlands, where the air grows cooler and the mountains hide countless communities. Among them, we spent several days living with the Mudmen, famous for their haunting masks and their quiet strength.

The Mount Hagen Festival brought it all together — hundreds of tribes, each with their own identity, music, and movement. A living mosaic of cultures, faces, and stories.

Papua New Guinea is a place where nature and tradition remain inseparable — a land of rivers, birds of paradise, and people whose beauty lies in their authenticity.
